How do know when your brass is no longer reloadable?

Can you measure it some way or do you just reload it X number of times and then toss it?

I have some .270 brass I have been reloading for years and honestly don't know how many time I've reload them. Gotta be at least 8 or ten times I'd guess.

I'm kinda like you. I'm never sure when to get new brass.  But there are certain things I pay attention to.

If the brass starts splitting necks, or primers don't hold in the pockets, I'll get rid of it.  Also, if accuracy goes out the window I may try some new brass to see if that's the problem. 

Somebody better call the Secret Service. Let 'em know there's an illegal alien in the White House...and it ain't the cook!!

Dan, Gunrunner pretty much covered it.After about 4 or 5 firings I really start to pay attention to my cases looking for anything abnormal.I pretty much necksize my cases only and that helps save on the life of your brass....Gene

When the primer pockets get loose or it looks like the case necks are splitting. I toss them.

 
The most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to.

All the above and...leave brass at the range if you find it there..and be suspect of any brass someone offers you.

I prefer new to used or "once fired brass

   Am not saying it's all bad but I have been given "once fired" pistol brass that was begining to split or was already split.
