Anyone know what they are?
Are they good to eat?
How do you prepare them?
What do they taste like?

canku-

those are drake mallards. taste a lot like pig liver. you need to bone 'em out, pressure cook for about 30 minutes, cover w/ cherries and white onions, then bake at 350 for 45 minutes to make 'em really good.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

Canku;

Now you skin them there breasts & examine them closely with a good looking glass.  Somewhere you'll see:  "Vulcanized by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron Ohio", real small mind you.

C'mon, they're sharp-tailed grouse!!  Darker meat than ruffed grouse or pheasant, but good nonetheless.  Good hunting for them in North and South Dakota!

alright, i knew they were familiar - sharptails. i see them alive and flying
every day. maybe it was the pose, but i wasn't sure. realized they weren't
huns soon after i made that post.

as ric said, my attention span wanders at the mention of certain key words!

Anyone on here hunt Ruffed,Spruce or Blue Grouse; Chukar;Mountain ,Gambles or Valley Quail;Bandtailed Pigeon or Eurasian Collared Doves an invasive species? Grouse tastes great I gut & skin the birds,cut them into pieces, season them with Johnny's Lamb & Game Seasoning,brown them in little oil in a pressure cooker then add water put on the top and pressure cook them 10 to 15 minutes,Um good, do the same with squirrel and rabbit.Seasoning available at Johnny's Fine Foods,319 E. 25th St, Tacoma, WA 98421  1-800-962-1462, shopping@johnnysfinefoods.com .I've been using this game seasoning 30+ years and so have many of my friends.
