I troll deep, i troll shallow, slow and fast and yet i don't get a bite. We've had warm days and cool days, rain and shine but no bites. The annual fishing derby is next weekend and i would like to get something to enter but i'm not too encouraged by the results thus far. Any ideas as to what i should do or try? Gary |

If you can sue McDonalds for getting you fat then why can't you sue the alcohol companies for all the ugly people you ended up sleeping with?

gary - what are you fishing for and waht kind of lake is it? i'll see what i can
dig up and try to ahve an answer or two by the end of the day. sounds like you've tried everything except the kitchen sink, but maybe a fresh perspective might help. |

Gary if you are sure of your technique, there is a sure problem. You are in the wrong place. If the fish are not under the boat you can't catch them even with a quarter stick of Dynatite. Try some place in the lake you haven't fished. Are you marking fish with your depth finder??? BEAR |

gary -
according to most of what i can find at the monet, you're doinge verything right. a couple of suggestions might be to try sIDE PLANING with the trolling and also rigging another lure a distance above the lower one. one other suggestion is to try jigging with a stout pyramid jig and a plastic worm. that's what i have so far. i know nothing about trolling, so these may not be the best suggestions. sometimes chanigng just a small thing pays off big. |

locate fish on fishfinder. try adjusting speed up and down and run a zig-zag
pattern when trolling. i like the vibrex lure for kokes. a wedding ring spinner tipped with a "garden hackle" is good. If the school is stationary. anchor your boat with two anchors so you don't drift around and use a #10 egg hook tipped with fly babies and just a split shot to get down. chum if its leagal. my mix is is 2 gallon of mill run, a quart of feeder eggs, a hand full of rock salt and enough water to make it like thick oatmeal. spoon liberally into water around boat. |

Yellow Panther Martins, with silver leaf, have been the best for us recently. Small to medium, doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. (for Trout) Edited by waksupi |

small little blue gill or small perch works great for big channel cats and northern and muskies
