Turkey sights/scope

   The world looks good to me, but I've lost a lot of sight in my right eye.  Right handed since birth, I've taught my self to shoot right and left.  Right side is best shooting.  after laser surgery I've got some shootable right eye vision.  So I shoot right handed or left handed depending upon how my eyes are on any given day.
Last year I got into the woods early and set up my decoys.  Called in 25 birds and took a 15 yd shot at a Tom.  Kind of a gimmy.  But I like to call the birds in close and watch them.  Well coming in in the dark I didn't judge my eyesight.  the right was a piece of shit.  So when I pulled up the gun my left eye when into auto dominate mode and I cross shot at the bird (shot right handed with the left eye).  Well that makes you about 2.3 yards to the right on your shot pattern at 15 yards.  No bird.
So I need to get some type of sight picture for turkey hunting that insures that I'm looking down the barrel with the right eye.  I don't want to wear an eye patch.
I could tap the receiver and put a scope on.  I don't have a rib on my turkey gun so I can't put on those rib clamp things.  I like light weight.
What do you guys use???
   Any suggestions???

	BEAR, You probably know my preference for a turkey gun sight already - a good low powered Leupold scope . Here's why: 1. Scopes draw in light - red dots, iron sights and peeps don't do that. 2. Better aiming point - with today's tight chokes and shot patterns, shotguns shoot almost projectile-like patterns. With that comes the need for precise aiming. Scopes with standard reticles (none of that heavy duplex or "diamond" reticle stuff for me thank you very much) are the best option I believe available. They don't cover up hardly any of the target unlike standard open sights. 3. Toughness - for lack of a better word. I've seen more than one plastic fiber optic sight get broken into pieces after laying against a tree. There is a liability waiting to happen I think while afield. Same goes for those red dot scopes - just when and where is that battery going to go dead? Besides, I don't care much for them - mounting system, parallax problems, etc. You can check out my review of a BSA (Bullsh** Aiming Device) on this thread here: http://www.baitshopboyz.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=7508&a mp;PN=1 For those reasons, I'd say have your scope drilled and tapped for a scope or get one of those clip-on-the-receiver types made by B-Square or some other companies. They work well, I've seen them used on slug guns with repeatable accuracy without worry of scope shift.

	Thanks for the advise Mountaineer. I need to get this thing going as the turkey season will be on us soon. Missed last year with that Dr cutting open my chest like he was gutting a deer. BEAR

	For several years i had a Simmons Whitetail scope on my 870--it was ok at low level ie 1 as i wanted it for aiming when laying on side etc BUT it sucks when you are not in a blind or against a tree and need to move the gun FAST to shoot. When things go balls up and bird is moving open sights are for me. Might look at laser or dot scopes in your case but be sure they work ok in different circumstances.
