 This just in!!!

 Various rare and pricey shotguns, when fired 3 feet and more behind highly motivated doves, has very little effect other than to hurry them on their way.

More tests are planned.

Max,is age wearing your timing or eyesight?

I have the same problem with clay targets some days,that explains why I don't shoot it on a regular basis.

What was the pricey gun in question?

Please keep us posted on your testing as I find all useful.

Have a good one.

Macca

Max;

Remind me to buy stock in various shotgun shell companies.  What's your preferred brand to miss with?

DD,

Thanks for the tip. Of course I'll have to see for myself. It should work.

Macca,

3200, Kreighoff Drielling, 42 Winchester....none of them seem to work any more. As for timing, I need a friend about 1/2 mile away with a radio to tell me when to start my swing. Eyes are a little bloodshot but still functional.

CB,

I'll ask amongst the unfortunate few who haul my sorry carcase out to the wheat stubble field about ammo. I usually forget mine and bum from them.

Max;

No wonder you've got to hang out here!  Shooting a Kreighoff & bumming ammo.

CB,

 The K gun is 16x16x8mm rimmed and made in the '30's. I am forced to bring my own fodder for it. No body has 16ga much any more. And I think I would be struck by lightning,(again) if I fed it ammo from Walmart.

 Bumming ammo is an art form totaly seperate from fiscal considerations.

Max;

Don't ever lend that Kreighoff to Klallen!  I know he'd ream the rifle to his new custom caliber using the .338 Lapua brass necked down to 8mm.  Then he'd ream the shotgun barrels for the rare, but powerful, 3.5" 16 gauge super-mag.

By the way, how big a scope ya got on it?

Krieg's are great gun's,... They often outlast thier owners.

I haven't met an original owner yet.

One of the best shotguns I ever had was a 16ga double bbl French built "guild gun". Mounted like lightning, and swung like a dream.

CB,

 It has a pop up leaf rear sight operated by pushing the safety down and forward. Then rock a small selctor forward that is inletted into the left side of the pistol grip and the rifle barrel is ready to go. I rarely fire the rifle any more. My beady eyes have trouble with that tiny leaf rear and bead front. I have some RWS brass all loaded up and set to go but would only make noise with no other apparent effect if fired. Much like my shotgunning or political advertising.
