I have been putting in for an area 10 Wyoming deer tag for 6 years. I couldn't wait to check the results this morning.
Unsuccessful again. Oh well, I'll keep trying. I did get two antelope tags. The cool thing is I put in a party application with my daughter and granddaughter so that means I will get to hunt with both of them this year. Hopefully my daughter will get something this year and it's my granddaughters first year to be able to hunt. Now we wait for October. Wing master

Wing, Only 6 years? I've been applying for a ram sheep tag for 47 years, and still nothing. But I did draw a B-cow elk tag last week. Still waiting for the antelope drawing.

I'm thinking a deer license should be easier to get than a Ram Sheep license. Almost everywhere else in the state deer are a general license. You can go to Walmart and buy a tag over the counter.
I understand what you're saying though. I know guys that have been putting in for a moose license for 30 years. Wing master

In Pennsylvania you get buck deer, turkey included in basic license. Bear tag is just a couple $$ more, but no drawing; you want it you get it$. 2nd turkey is also just $20, no draw.
Only draw we have is elk. |

The only big game animal you don't have to draw for here is deer. Unless you want to hunt deer in one of about 4 "trophy" areas. Then you have to draw that.

Money, definitely, for he wingtip bunch; I haven't seen boots on the ground in at least 15 years, and I hunt A LOT. Last Washington game warden I saw was that hollywood bunch on teevee. Gotta be 90% of the department money goes to administration, and thinking up these weird game laws--and I think they farm that out to a bunch of Philadephia lawyers.

During any big game season I usually see at least one game warden. The nice thing around here is they hire a lot of young pretty girls as game wardens. They have always been professional and very curtious.

The DEC are dinks around here. I have never had any serious run ins with them but they have pulled me over driving. No real reason I guess, just because they can. Luckily they don't come up this way much, in the fall they are pretty thick at the salmon run...good place for them. Conversely, the DEC officers I have talked to in Maine and VT have been real nice guys.

We had a ten year closed bear season. When they opened it up (bears everywhere) it was a lottery system. After 2 years of not getting enough folks to use the alloted tags, they changed to a just buy a bear license without limits.
