I was just wondering how many members own one of these scopes and your views of them.

I have one of the 6x40 fixed power models and am pretty happy with it,... it is crisp, clear, and accurate for the .308 caliber ammo.

The newer generation ones are suppose to allow you to compensate for various calibers,... anyone have one? Your thoughts??

Anyone else??

no personal experience, but i have "heard" that SA scopes are not very rugged. considering the price and the fact that springfield's name is attached to it, this really surprised me.

i'd like to hear from SA scope owners on this issue as well......

Never owned one or used one.  Was tempted to get one of their long range scopes, the 6-20 I think, but kept hearing bad things.  One was that the bubble level was prone to breakage.    Their scope prices do seem pretty good compared to other manufacturers scopes with the same/similar features.

This is my FIRST Springfield Armory scope and so far so good! The level bubble is still intact, and it hasn't lost it's adjustment that I have set it to after about 500 rounds so far. It is the newest of my scopes and has not taken the beating as the Zeiss on my 7mm Magnum.

I must also say that for all of the "Bad" things that people have to say about Simmons Scopes I haven't a complaint. I've had a 44 MAG series scope (6.5-20x44 w/ Adj Obj.) on that 7mm mag for over 10 years and not ONE single problem with it.

I have owned Leopold's, Zeiss, Redfield 5-stars, Weavers,... etc and don't have any complaints about any of them. Each have their own distinct characteristics that I can rave about,.. as their downfalls.

The only Simmons I've owned was the 44mag 3-10x44.  The recticle broke, and the factory fixed it for me.  Later I gave it to a friend.  I liked the Simmons except when using it in certain light conditions that would cause a lot of glare on the lens.   Glad to hear you've had good luck with your Springfield.
