KT has been anouncing the PF-9 for several months, and they haven't shipped yet. Looks interesting, though. Will be the smallest and lightest 9x19 on the market, if they ever start to ship. Recoil with +P ammunition should be plenty of fun.http://www.kel-tec.com/pf9.html

Well, looks like I have to have a chat with the police chief, because he tried to tell some BS about Federal Law says you have to be 21 and NH says you have to be 18. I checked the laws before I handed in my application and nowhere in the NH Constitution were there any laws saying how old you have to be, nor any Federal laws about CCW that I have seen.

Feds don't have much to do with CC permits, but Federal law prohibits anyone under the age of 21 from buying a handgun. I assume that it's the same with anyone under age carrying one. Not being from NH, I think I'll sit on the sidelines and wait this one out to see what happens............................Kingpin

For carry purposes, depending on the season and time of day, I use, a S&W mod 65 .357, a S&W model 60 .38 special, a Colt 1911 .45ACP, or a S.I.G. P226. Being quite used to all of them, I can work either one with about the same skill. The only safety is the one on the 1911, but being an IPSC shooter, it's not strange to me. As far as the P-89's go, they are the ones that keep me in beer money for the repairs I make on them, as they need repairs so often. Here we call them "dead mans guns." If anyone likes to carry them, I meant no offense, it's just that I have seen them in the worse possible light and for those reasons, I don't own one. I DID come by a very nice S.I.G. P220 that I am getting ready to put through its paces though. It didn't even have a box of ammo fired through it and looks factory fresh. Maybe it will be THE gun for all seasons......................................Kingpin

Bear;

Nah!!  It means the Ruger's are very reliable.  T'aint beer that Kingpin goes for, it's Crown.  Now if he'd-a said; 'keeps him in whiskey money', you'd know they were made outta recycled kleenex.

Regarding age, when I turned 18 I applied for and was issued a License to Carry in my home state of Massachusetts.  Mass had two types back then - one for target only & another for protection.  The target was easy to get, protection more difficult but I did get it with no problem.  Issued by police chief.

I remember the reaction of some of the police in the station along the lines of "If I had my way no one under 21 would get one".

After it was issued, I could not legally buy a handgun or even handgun ammo - this was long before people were using 38 & 44 in lever action rifles.  Borrowed Dad's gun or had him buy for me as a gift.  I don't want to start a straw purchase discussion, but would have been interesting if needed to explain.

dfletcher.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania use to be the same.  Gun control act of '68 and other Federal laws since are now much stricter.  Federal laws ALWAYS superceed the individual state laws.  States CAN make stricter laws than the Federal statutes, and some like Maryland have.

Us to be you could carry non-concealed (on your hip) without any age or license restrictions.  Bygone days!
