Not sure on what, but I think my wife has ideas for ours. (And I doubt it's for a Ruger).

I'm going to buy a 40SW.  I'm thinking of a taurus, Brazil is even worse off than us.

And Brazil still has crucifications as a form of punishment?  Not sure I want my tax refund going there.  I'm certain I don't want to go there.

Robert;

You might take a look at the new S&W M&P pistols, they're getting excellent reviews.  Dakotasin, here, has one I think & commented very favorably on it.  Might shoot him a PM.  And, it'd be an American company.

For the price of the S&W M&P + $100, I could get a SIG.  I have a few Rugers and while there ok, I'm not really a fan.  I may just wait a while and get something besides the Taurus.  I have found no bad info on any Taurus out there though.  What I liked was the SA/DA trigger, if you had a FTFire, you just pulled trigger as DA to restrike primer without racking slide.  I don't believe either Ruger and S&W have that.

I'm all for buying American, but at double price?  I did a quick search and found quite a few distractors on Ruger's P9s and a few on S&W M&P.  May be just because, they're better known and more is expected out of them?

I'm checking out the Bersa Thunder in 45, about the same size and price as the Taurus.   I believe it's made in Argentina.  I am wondering how reliable that one is, as they have web forum sites discussing fixes for feeding problems, factory auth. repair site says "before you send you Bersa back for repair for FTFeed, try prem FMJ ammo only, not reloads"

Thanks for you imput

RC

I went shopping today.  Checked out the S&W and Taurus.

Taurus fit me better and had better trigger pull than S&W.

I did get the Taurus in 45 though, I just couldn't talk myself into the 40SW or 9mm.

I just got my right arm out of cast from broken wrist, so shot it lefty.

100 rds no FTF, trigger is not as good as 1911.  It weighs about the same in holster, loaded with spare mag, as 1911 with one mag.  25 shots VS 8 shots.  Shooting weak hand, You do notice it's lighter shooting full house 230s.  I think strong hand will be less noticeable though.

I haven't gotten holster for CC yet, I'm going to find light for rail first.

I looked at the new Ruger subcompact 9 and may have to get that next.  Smaller and lighter than my .380.

Fella's;

I delivered the Tikka to the smith today for the rebarrel to 6.5 Swede.  Half my rebate check's going to him to get that project underway.  The other half goes to buyin' wood for the stock.

Gee, it's great to be broke!
