I've been thinking about buying an ATV cabin for my quad to keep some of the elements off me on crappy days. Just wondering if anyone here has had experience with these whether they are good or bad experiences. The only thing i see where it may be a problem is transporting my rifle. I have gun forks on my front rack but my gun protrudes out past the sides of the quad. I have a gun boot but how do i access it in an enclosed cabin. I don't have any room on my handle bars to attach gun forks. Tell me what you think.

Just go with a windshield, some may even extend to offer protection to the hands at the handle bar aka like the motorcycle styles.  I would think a cab would be very unhandy in a wooded environment ie off road travel.......

Gary;

I've seen a window affair that has a couple of bows that go from the top corners of the window & extend & curve down to the rear rack.  You can then pull a spring-loaded cover out, over the bows, & clip it to the window frame.  No doors, but it can keep the rain off ya & provide wind protection.

No idea who makes it or how much it costs, but it might be the most practical thing for you.

Thanx CB. I don't care about doors as long as it keeps the rain, sleet, snow and wind off me. I could probably make something. My concern was having room for my rifle.

Buddy of mine has one of the covers I think you are talking about and he puts his gun in a plastic gun case that attaches to the ATV in front of his foot.  Fits all nice but looks to me like getting that first shot off quick would be a bitch.

Here's what i'm talking about Al. I guess it would be a bitch getting that quick shot off. I don't use mine for road hunting or driving around. Mostly for getting me to my stand or hauling out my game. On the other hand if i was heading to my stand or wherever and seen a nice buck, then it will probably be a gong show trying to get organized to get that shot off.

I've used them in Alaska, great for where i hunt.  Keeps you very dry in heavy rain, and keeps the wind off you.  They are heavy welded aluminum with solid clear Plexiglas fronts and back, solid lower half doors and clear plastic zip down side half windows.  these went like tanks in heavy brush 2-3 foot high.  Gary you could weld one up easily from 1 inch square al tubing.

The soft plastic all round would be terrible if you want to go into heavy brush or treed areas, rips in hard impact.

Buy a Jeep.  Worst thing I don't like about them,is fog,they fog up so bad on cold days. We actually had a pop-up blind at one time,that covered the 4x4,that was kinda cool,drive up to a nice vantage point,cover up,bang your hunting.
