Since big game season ended I have been out chasing a few birds.  Axl is having a good time and enjoying the exercise.

Here are a few recent pics.

Minus 15 degree goose retreive.

A little upset that he couldn't get to the goose.

Eventually he got it done.

It was a good day.

Mallard limit from last weekend.

And another limit the following day.

This is probably my best year for numbers harvested and it has been big fun.  Tonight will be a jerky making night.

Here are some additional pics from this season if anyone is interested.

Great pics MT.

Did he get the goose or did you have to walk him around to the other side of the ice?

My lad use to know that her dew claws would work sometimes in that situation and she would try to come up on the ice sideways.  Didn't always work but when it did she always got up, shook off and looked around with a grin that said "see I knew I could make it".

This is the first time he has not been able to get up on an ice shelf.  I called him back and sent him out where the ice was to the shore on our side.  I have never heard him bark like this either, but he was pissed this time.

looks like a great day afield, craig! but minus 15? you're made of iron, i
swear!!

i love it up here, and i don't have enough words to express how thankful i
am to be back, but boy, it sure gets cold! it's just part of living here, though,
and i understand that it keeps the riff-raff out~~
