On Vandalism
Information is being sought by Montana Fish,
Wildlife and Parks and the Valley County Sheriff’s
office regarding the vandalism of state and federal
property in southern Valley County last month.
Two FWP Block Manage-ment Areas (BMAs), in
addi-tion to a Bureau of Land Man-agement sign for
Valley Reser-voir, were vandalized in mid October.
Eight BMA signs, a BMA sign-in box and the Val-ley
Reservoir sign were dam-aged and removed from
their posts. The signs were discov-ered by a Fish,
Wildlife & Parks technician on Friday, Oct. 14.
The BMA signs and sign-in box were removed from
posts marking the boundaries of the Desert Coulee
and Wittmayer BMAs along Willow Creek. The
missing signs and sign-in box have since been
replaced. Physical evidence from both sites has
been collected and is being analyzed to apprehend
the vandals responsible for the damage.
Any information regarding this incident is
appreciated. Please contact any FWP game warden
at the Glasgow office at 228-3700. You may also call
the Valley County Sheriff’s Office Crime Stopper
number at 1-800-222-2226 or FWP’s TIP-MONT
hotline at 1-800-TIP-MONT. Callers will re-main
anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
