Where do you find bullets for this thing? I was lookin around winchester's site and found that they chamber the new win 94 trails end hunter in this caliber, so i did some lookin around but couldnt find any 117 grain flat nose bullets. Would you have to use the hornady 117 grain round nose in its place or is the only option to cast your own?

thanks for the tip. Leave it to you to navigate all the major sites looking for new stuff.

I love the 25-35. For 20 years I've tried to get marlin to make one. Even tried dozens of gunsmiths to make rebarrel a 30-30 marlin 336 in this cartridge.

I'd like the 26 inch Oct barrel but I see that Winchester only makes it in a cowboy model with 20 inch round.

They also say it is good for whitetail. I'd say in the proper hands it is decent deer gun to about 150 yds. In the proper hands.

Might have to go look at one of those new trails ends.

I also see Winchester is right on top of the wrong things as usual. they took the safety off the side and put it on the tang, while showing most of their lever lines with tang safeties. I don't thing they both fit in the same spot?????

That 117 25 grainer was made originally for the 25-35, they changed it a little. I think they kept it in the line-up so that reloaders of 257 Roberts that were squeezed into shorter actions could get a shorter OAL with heavier bullets. My 257 Rob is on a long Ruger action, and I still use that round nose Hornady....deadly on deer.

NH,

I should have mentioned that the 60 grain Hornady flat nose works in the 25-20 and the 25-35 also. So you have a light varmint bullet and a decent deer load.

If you don't follow the old stuff, you might look at the 25 Remington, it is a rimless version of the 25-35 for better feeding

That roundnose hornady is a good choace for the 2535. i personaly woulduse it for coyotes and mabye our small blacktails but a 30/30 is a much better deer round...tj3006

150 grain 30-30 is much better deer round than the 117-120 in the 25-35.

But I like the 25-35 better for varmint.

The Hornady 117 grain RN has a good reputation in the .25/35. I hope the new rifle means new bulk Winchester brass and 117 grain FN bullets will be on the market soon too. The .25/35 is a pussy cat to shoot and is very accurate in good rifles.AW

I also really like the .25-35 but in Oz good luck trying to find one. Down here lever actions mean one thing - .30-30. Even the .307 & 7-30 Waters never took off and they would have been ideal for probably 90% of Aussie game.

The .25-35 I think is a really appealing little round (even if it is a bit of a wimp) and I'd love one for my wife due to mild recoil.
