Hey guys, i have been getting into primitive hunting lately. I am getting a muzzleloader as soon as I get the cash, and i was wondering what would be a good starter bow for deer hunting? I am not too too strong, so i would need one with a pull weight a little on the light side, but not too much. I can pull 35 fairly easy, so is 50 enough for deer?

I just went to the Bass Pro Shops website and they have a bow called the Reflex Gamegetter bow pakage, which i can get in left handed form, with a pull of 50-60lbs. for $249.99. Is this a good deal. I would still need to buy arrows and broadheads and probably some other stuff i dont know about yet, but would this be a good bow setup to get me started into archery hunting?

hey nh_hunter:  good to hear from ya again.  look at yard sales. i just picked up my oldest a 4 year old hoyt raptor compond for 100 bucks.  check into if your state has a limt on how much poundage you need for hunting.  i started the kids out when they were 3. i have been shooting since the same age.  kits are good for starting out . but then you see what else you want then you start replacing things. a lot of guys are going back to stick bows your best bet will be a used 1. just check the limbs for cracks.
