I see quite a few guys building rifles. I have a factory stock for a Rem 700 short action, bull barrel (measures .900 @ forend). Checkering is sharp and the factory finish has been striped off. I'm here to tell ya that ain't no easy chore. Guy wanted it refinished then dropped the project. Has no buttplate or wrist cap. I'll take $25.00 for it. Got that in labor in stripping it.
