Sir North;

What's the situation?  SHTF survival?  Restrictive laws that we can weasel around?  Strict compliance just because?  Give me a clue here, it'll influence my choices.

A Blaser 93 (if you know what this rifle is, then you know why I picked it.)

Okay maybe I'd settle for a Sauer 202 for a rifle instead. Either way I win.

For the handgun I'd have to go with a T/C Encore for the same reason I want the Blaser.

Shotgun: Remington 870 3 1/2" 12ga. Is there any other shotgun!

Pre 64 Model 70 in an .06 with a low power variable like a leupold 2-5 or old weaver steel tube V7 2.5-7.

12 Guage side x side Fox Sterlingworth.

Either  a Smith 686 in.357 or Ruger Security 6 in.357, 4 inch barrel.

I got all of them, Don't need anything more.

fella's;

If it's SHTF:  A short barreled 12 guage Rem 870 (Thanks Kingpin) that's made for this scenario.  H&K USPc .40.  Wilson tactical .223.  The Wilson is an AR-15 clone.

If it's for getting around a legal restriction:  Dakota LHB switch barrel .223, .30-06, .338 Winmag.  Browning BPS with a slug, rifled, & 28" barrels.  Ruger Blackhawk .357 with the 9mm cyl also.

If it's because that's all I can afford, period:  S&W 686 6" .357.  Winchester mdl 70 classic LHB in .30-06 with Leupold 3.5-10X50mm.  And a Browning custom shop LH 20 guage O/U English stock.

And there you have it.  What's the scenario?

Oh heck, I'll play I suppose.

For hunting, my battery would be this:

Custom WV Rifle based off Winchester Model 70 Classic platform in 30-06 with a Douglas 24 or 26 inch tube for squeezing out the most velocity.  Gonna build this dang thing one of these days!

As for a shotgun, well probably the Remington 870 12 ga with bird and buck barrels.  Got it, save the slug setup.

As for a pistol, I've not decided yet, I've got a S&W 29 in 44 mag but was thinking maybe a Ruger big bore, maybe a 405?

Thank goodness we're not limited to just three!

Ah . . . the eternal poll . . . and, of course, my choices are obviously the best.  You have to cover most possibilities . . . so here goes.

Rifle . . . bolt action in .338 Winchester . . . Winchester I suppose.  Leupold scope.

Hangun . . . revolver in .44 Mag/.44 Special . . . Ruger Single-Action . . . shortest barrel possible.  A good Bianch holster and belt like I had for my S&W .357 . . . beautiful leather stuff.

Shotgun . . . only one choice . . . Remington 870 in 12 Gauge . . . modified choke.

You can hunt for dang near anything with the above combo.

Ok Ok OK, if the shit really hit the fan, I would keep the M1A, the SIG P226 9MM, and the Benelli super 90 with a 18" barrel and pistol grip. No better combo has ever been invented for dealing with surly actors or folks who want to take what is rightfully yours. This is not meant to imply that I would turn up my nose at an 870 shotgun though............Kingpin

LOL Tash, although I have a lot of .45's, I am thinking of the veritable ship hitting the sand, and the abundance of 9MM ammo that will be free for the taking. Besides, I wouldn't get rid of any of my guns, I would just cache them until I needed them............................Kingpin

I just have to be different.

I'll take big game with Marlin in 35 Remington.  No long shots though, will probably go through stack of knee pads.

Browning auto-loader in 16 gauge.

Taurus 22 LR revolver.
