Was going thru some disks, and found these from last September.
Ten of these were wing shots...I'm no great shakes as a wingshooter,
but there are so many dove in S Texas it was hard not to almost limit,
even with a flinter. Another seven weeks, and real hunting season starts
here!

Good shooting. I have used my trade gun on dove, grouse, pheasant, quail, woodcock, elk, deer, antelope, sage hen, rattlesnake, jack rabbits, pigeon, duck, geese, and probably a few other things iI've forgot about over the years

Those who have never shot them, don't know what they are missing! If I have time tomorrow, i will post pictures of mine.

This was one of Curly's kits from years ago. If you ever dealt with one, they were a bit "rough". The blank came with short mortise panels, so that part wasn't very good.

If I could only have one muzzleloader, it would be the trade gun. Nothing else is so versatile, and just downright fun to shoot.

I have heard that some of his stuff was a bit rough, but fixable. My fowler is from Jim Chambers. Just about the best fitting I 've ever seen. Even the buttplate, which I ALWAYS have a fight with fit well.

I think his locks are among the best available. I would never have imagined wingshooting with a flinter with the CLACK-WHOOSH-BOOM Italian locks.

I hope to take at least one whitetail with it this coming season.
