Tried out the interarms MKX yesterday,

Definatly made a good buy. Took it out to my little place in the forest and shot off the hood of my silverado, groups were quite exceptable although not great. A poor trigger lousy scope and unsteady rest combined to open the group size up quite a bit, but she was still no worse than an inch and a half at 85 yards and some groups were alot better than that !.  So I bought a timney and put it in, and repaced the cheapo 4 power scope with the 3X9 burris FF2 I had on the shelf. The triger is very nice and I bet next weekend will show me what the new30,06 can doo !

Yep, imported by Interarms, made by CZ. (Formerly BRNO)

orion -

the only reason i know this is because i own an earler version of the interarms, but the interarms, chas dalys and herters are/were all made by ZASTAVA in yugoslavia. they are to brno and yugoslavia what CZ was to brno and czechoslovakia

I'm a little foggy on this but believe everything that came out of Communsist Czechoslovakia was stamped Brno regardless of which factory it came out of. Today CZ and Brno are two different companys. From all I know the Interarms are Zastava as Ron points out.

The reason I asked, it is possible to adjust the trigger in them with a screwdriver as I recall. I built a .458 on one. It's not a bad rifle and it surprised me. TJ, if you want to know how to adjust the trigger, pm me and I will pull mine out of the stock and make sure of what I tell you.....................Kingpin

Kinbgpin,

thanks for the offer but youralittle late ! I spent 75.00 on a timny . The instalation went well, mechanachly it was a piece of cake, but I hd to notch the stock for the saftey the old satet did not go  far down into the stock as the new on did and the new on travels farther to the rear and I hava litte gap in frontof the saftey beacuse the notch for the old one went farther forward. By the way It is an iterarms and I guess I was wrong about it being a CZ, it is a zastava, I am learning alot about mausers and i like them, I know I preach alot about buying american but when buying usedit makes little difference , and I sertainly would not fault a guy for getting a great deal !

tj - I bought a Timney for my Mark X(late model) a few years back and didn't like the different fit of the safety to the stock. The safety is like the old Rem's and Rugers in that you have to go off 'safe' to open the bolt(this doesn't bother me personnally). It seems that I had other problems. The Mark X performs very well as is. I saw your post when it first came on and today I did open the rifle, but see you already installed the Timney. I'm showing the pics anyway(FWIW):

I have Timneys also for an early M77 tang safety rifle that did not fit well and also for my new M70 that requires modifying the sear engagement on the bolt. They will not be used.
