I am going through brass and need a larger media/brass separator.  The ones on a 5 gallon bucket are just way too small.  I use a cement mixer to tumble brass.
Any suggestions?  I’m not opposed to making one either.
Thanks!

WOW, that is a lot of brass.

Lowe's has

 10-ft x 3-ft Galvanized Steel Hardware Cloth Rolled Fencing 1/4-in x 1/4-in - Mesh Size

what do you use for a collection bin???  galvanized wash tub?

I do have a good bit of brass.  Around 2000 lbs of range brass.  I've been collecting for a few years. There is some scrap in that.  I would say about 75% of the weight is 223 and 9s.

So I start with a 55 gallon plastic barrel cut in half with a 1/4 hardware cloth framed on 2x4s.  That gets most of the dust, dust dirt and unspent powder out.  cases get pushed into another half 55 gallon drum on rollers.  From there I go to the Game Changer brass sorter.  That is working out great!  From there the sorted brass goes into the cement mixer with 10 gallons of media that I treat myself.  Followed up with 4-5 gallons of sorted brass of my choice. Tumbles for 75 to 90 minutes.  Then I dump the mixer on another half a 55 gallon drum with hardware cloth framed in 2x4s.  That get most of the media out.  Now I need to run thru a separator to get the remaining media out of the cases.  The little ones over a 5 gallon bucket isnt cutting it!
Im considering the larger Dillon separator.  Or maybe build something.

Since this is the final separation maybe you need a 1/8 inch screen?

1/4 hardware cloth works as it gets the corncob media out.

I'm considering the Dillon CM2000 media separator.  It seems to be a good size unit.

It seems like the Dillon CM2000 will do the job for now.

If I end up needing something larger, I’ll build a rotary trommel using a 30‑ or 55‑gallon drum lined with hardware cloth. I’ve already come across plenty of DIY trommel designs—some hand‑cranked, others fully motorized.

Got to love it when buddies stop over and start the conversation with, "I have been thinking abut your brass/media separator idea..."
You just dont want your bride hearing this as you are about to add something else to the garage.
The Dillon CM2000 works so much better than what I was using.  However, something better is out there to be made.
I cleaned a bunch of brass in the cement mixer over weekend one of the NCAA tournament.  Jut go change it every 90 minutes and I am good.
