I'm planning a calling trip in to THE RIVER BRAKES.

it's a long trip right at 300 miles 6 hour, round trip. With the days still short it will be a leave in the dark and get home in the dark trip. If all goes well...Even in July or Auguest, it can be challanging. I hope to get 9 or 10 sets, and see a LOT of country.

I do on occasion a 3 hr drive to hunt for a day, then 3hrs back.

But I also often find a cheap motel!

About as far as I go is 70 miles each way. That gets me into our elk hunting area and to a few good prairie dog towns. It's about an hour and a half drive each way.

2 weeks ago we drove 2hrs for a 1/2 day bird hunt. Next weekend we are going 3.5hrs into PA for birds.
