I'm a mediocre coyote caller at best. I only have mouth calls. I'm thinking about getting an electronic call.
Can you guys suggest a call that works but wouldn't be super expensive?
D, Have you tried your Freq call yet? That's out of my price range for now but not totally out of the question.

Yes I did. Its a great call, BUT. I had a lot of troubles with the call. In fact I sent the first one back and the sent me another one. That one had a clinch that they did not find but I did. We did a remote fix but There was a fetcher I could not use, there are working on a fix and a different version. All that said, I ended up returning it for a refund. I felt it just did not live up to what it was hyped to be. They are great to work with and they really tried to make me happy. We did 140 sets all over the state different terrain and weather and NEVER got a coyote to come in, or even answer back. I believe in the idea and will try something again, but there just not there yet.
As fare as calls wing, Any of the FoxPro calls are top notch. They have a few under $ 200. They are good, and there off the shelf in most any sporting's good shop. Most you can add sounds, any MP# sound, they have a good list of extra sounds for a Price. We find the new MTK ( what ever reason the board will not let my add the letter K) sounds are great. I'm waiting for there NEW X48 I'll try that one and Hope It will call in a coyote.

Thanks D.
I'm looking at the Foxpro Hellcat and the Hellcat pro. Do you recomend getting one with the decoy or does it help?

I think they do seldom do they hurt. It's more important to make sure you keep the wind right from the time you leave your truck till your finished at the set. Try to slip in under cover of the terrain, and try to keep the sun at your back. I know up north like we are the sun is always south as it the wind. The motorized decoys seam to work the best but use a LOT of battery. We mix hand calls in with the foxpro, that is the new thing and it seems to be beneficial.

I use a loq cost Foxprro ($200). Works fine with all the features I need.
Rule #1--hide the truck out of sight (don't slam the doors!

I usually walk several hundred yards from the truck and am out of sight of it. How far away is enough?
If I order from the Foxpro web site it looks like they will load it with the sounds I want. What sounds do you recomend?

MFK sounds are very good. They are on the FP site. We use 70% coyote sounds, howls, barks, fights, interrogations, lonely, horny, Pups stuff are very good ext. Some bird, a few rabbit, deer, antelope. Actually raccoon sounds are doing well for us but not in the winter. Take there package and add what you can. Made For Killing, (MFK) sounds like ground pound are very hot right now.

I bought a Fox Pro before leaving AZ. We didn't get to use it unfortunately. But I did rile up the big bull elk here at the farm with it this fall!!!
