I've been fly fishing 65+ years.  been using chest high waders, neoprene for the last 35 years.

Now, I'm going on a 3 day salmon fishing trip (Salmon River for chinook).  Buddies have talked me into shoe boot and stocking foot wader.

Got a pair, lots of decisions and 'fitting'.   Put 'studs' in the shoes yesterday.

These thing are super light weight, hope they hold my olde bones inplace and dry.  will be walking about 1.5 miles down stream to the pool I like.  Actually, it will be the 1.5 miles back uphill at the end of the day that decided me to go light.  will use a back pack for boots/waders/ fly chest boxes, etc.

Weather was very hot.   80+.

Lots of fish moving in evening but no hungry.
good trip, low catch.  one King.

Waders and boots worked great, especially with the heat.
