Evening BSB's.  I'd mentioned this a couple times before in other topics so figured it might as well be next.  In late 2007, my brother mentioned he had been working on something interesting for a Witness he had that I might want to also try.  I ran up to the shop to see what he'd been doing.

What he had was a Witness in 10mm.  He'd gotten himself a .38 Super barrel for the gun and reamed the bugger out, putting a .357 Sig top on a 10mm case, very similar to a 9x25 Dillon.  I was already handloading for the Sig so making the round wouldn't require any new tooling.  I now I needed to make a decision.  It really wasn't that hard of a decision especially with the spring gun show coming to town soon.    lol.

I had a nib Tanfoglio Witness 10mm and a .38 Super barrel in hand by late April, 2008.

This is what he created ... a .357 Sig on steroids :

He returned the gun with a dummy case and I got busy necking down some Winchester 10mm cases.  Kind of a slow process using the Sig sizing die and getting everything right for proper headspacing.  In the end, it created a snappy little round.  16 grs of AA#9 gets a Hornady 125 gr .357" XTP going 1565 fps.

I thought I'd lost the 10mm barrel for this handgun but found it last summer rummaging through some boxes at the storage unit.  One more range session should have that handload finalized.   I'll report whenever it's done.

Wife says my brother is like the devil on my shoulder.  With this particular project, it really was all his doing but I'm thrilled to have this unique switch-barrel Tanfoglio in the safe.    k

I've always liked the idea of 2 different barrels for one gun.

That one looks like it's going to be a good one.
