Bears post made me think of this for what ever reason.
Yesterday on the way home with Josie, GD, I was behind a GFPD car.
It was a Ford Explorer, It had a front bumper that would rival my cow catcher. Duel exhaust. AND a big Ford Interceptor V-6 , 400 hp, Dang a Kids dream wagon.
I wonder if when the get rid of it what they take off if anything, speedometer goes up to 160mph, Maybe "Chip" it down.Tongue

Sounds like the movie "Blues Brothers".

I don't think they take anything off except communications gear, and logos.  Resellers may strip some stuff off, but suspect police sell it as-is.

My Explorer has 150,ooo on it had one front impeller shaft go, nothing else needed replacing.

I'm not sure how they do it in Montana but, My son in law had a small used car lot for a while. He bought a used Wyoming Highway Patrol Dodge Charger. I don't know if they took anything off of it but I do know that thing would run.

We took it out one day and were getting on the interstate. He got on it going up an on ramp. By the time we got on the highway we were going something like 120 mph.

It was impressive.
