two weeks with temps in the 20s and one week colder, lakes/ponds were frozen. So I dig out the sled, auger, and spend two days looking for rods and tip ups! found them. Well yesterday it started at 0 oF and was 50 oF by 4 pm. Today another bright 50 oF. If you had good ice before you will still have ice to fish on only after a day of sun. We have fished in 60* and still have 24" of ice... That said, you have to check it as you go out. ------------- Remember: Four boxes keep us free ,the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, AND the cartridge box |

I'd make sure before I went out on the ice. The water under the ice is a little colder than I want to swim in. Just my opinion. Wing master ------------- I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on. |
