Primarily a revolver and single shot pistol shooter, just wondering. Say a 1911 pistol how critical is loading to get it to reliably function/cycle???? Most pistol today use the Browning, 1911, inlocking system and I assume the forward barrel movement is critical and a oad velocity could scew with it. thoughts.

Unless the loading is seriously overpowered or under for that matter, pretty much they run without a hitch. New guns require a break-in period and some are known for not liking hollowpoints, but just about all function with loadings from base level to +P without a hitch. Deagles are notorious for preferring hot loads, gas action, pretty much sums it up with them. If you wish to run sub-sonics or wuss loads, a simple spring swap is the ticket, same goes for big jumps like the Rowland loads. Spring kits are dirt cheap, under 30 bucks for just about all makes and models. Auto's are fairly simple to dismantle and do the swap...couple minutes is average if you know your gun. I can do the Deagle in under 20 seconds. The 92F takes longer. Most modern 1911's feed and function with just about anything and conversion kits are cheap for changing calibers out down to .22LR <--most popular kit. 10mm, 38 Super, 9mm, etc.,all can be had. ------------- ...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt! |

I'm use to revolvers, 38, 357, 41 mag, and 44 mag. I often load these really light for practice, and load to P+ for hunting. Can load them so they are comfortable to shoot but still knock over lead. I have 22 rf, 32 acp, 380, 9mm autos. All fire full loads reliably (not as reliable as a revolver but acceptable). Just wondered if I started to load light loads would they full cycle.

May want to invest in a light spring kit if you start to get low and slow enough for cycling issues to arise. ------------- ...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt! |
