So It starts! Next Saturday you will find us in the mud boat hidden someplace in the cattails shivering waiting for sun up. It probably started with a couple of hours of driving with a overloaded duck boat stuffed full of goose decoys and a case of shells. an hour or two driving a standup boat in the dark looking for a likely looking spot. Slogging through mud 10" and water up to your crotch. The wind could be howling and possibly raining, MAN can it get any better??? But as the sun hits the water and the geese start to erupt off the water it will all be forgotten. Once again I'm reminded why I don't hunt waterfowl. Sunday morning, a cup of good coffee (with more in the pot), and the paper. Feet up, relaxed, bacon & eggs, perhaps taking on the crossword puzzle. Big game season is when you get up a Oh-dark-thirty. Everybody knows that! 900F ------------- Birth certificate!? He don't need no steenkink birth certificate!! |

It ALL becomes worth it when the first of many flocks of geese come in wings set and legs stretched out spread eagle in front of you at 20/30 yards.
