Hello All, New here, Got a link given to me by Tas over on the Foods of the World Site when he and I were talking about folks on Facebook and he put the link to here for me to check out... I'm from the Harrisburg area of PA, Lived in PA all my life, grew up in a little town north of Harrisburg along the Mighty Susquehanna River and grew up basically as a Country Boy stuck in a small town...spent many summers on my 1 Aunt and 1 Uncle's Farms helping and Learning about growing plants and animals to eat and basically tagging along before I was old enough to hunt with my Dad and 3 older brothers... I'm a nut when it comes to the Outdoors! Always wanting to be there and NOT at work, long for days when I can just be in the woods or along a creek or sitting by a lake hunting or fishing or maybe gathering wild fruits and berries...
I do many things in Life outside of work, make homemade soda, beer, wine, jellies, candy, grow veggies in a garden in the back yard and on a Buddy's farm to make salsas and for other ways of eating.... I always have to learn more and more each day, always looking for things to learn something of that i didn't know anything about...sometimes folks refer to me as a "Know it all" for I have many things in my brain that I know about that most would never seek to know about or understand! I'm a Firm Believer that each and every law abiding citizen of the United States has a GOD GIVEN Right to have and to own firearms or other weapons to use to take wild animals for home use and also to defends ones property and loved ones! I'm a hunter of many things and a Trapper of anything legal to be trapped and a fisherman for trout, pan fish(Mostly crappy, perch and punkinseeds) Walleye and catfish and will defend those things till my dieing day! I'm not a sportsman but a Conservationist, I have an understanding that we need to manage the wildlife so that we have more for future generations and that disease never wipes out a population..I do not consider hunting, trapping and fishing as Sports, I consider them to be "a Way of Life" there is no sport in it for me, it is a time to go out and hunt, fish or trap and to use what I take to eat at home and help to defray the cost of the meats from the grocery stores, I do not use every thing that is sold to make hunting or fishing easy and feel that buying everything that is sold to hunt, fish or trap is pretty much making it a sport and not a way of life and ends up making the meat or fur from the animals and fish cost more then it would in a grocery store! Some think that a person like myself who considers hunting, fishing and trapping as a way of life, never has any fun in taking part in hunting trapping or fishing, that is Far from the Truth, I enjoy myself every day I'm out, see more then the normal person would see and it clenses my soul and regnerates my life's batteries! I will be on here from time to time, I spend most of my time on a PA Hunting Site and the Foods of the World Site.....

Welcome Woody. Also from Pa. and I trapped a lot until hand problems made it impossible to open traps. Exercising now, so I might make it next season. Lots of nice folks here, no moderation to speak of, as we are all adults. Looking forward to seeing you post. |

Woody, Welcome to HB. There are a lot of us on here that aren't from Montana or even west of the Mississipi. FRom your introductory post it looks like you'll fit right in here. So much so that you were gettin the gas before you even stepped off the boat so to speak. Gotta give those guys up there in MT a little break. I been reading around on the site today.... Looks like some ARE In Bed with the Nitwitted Brainless Wonders or have let themselves Be Brainwashed by the Nitwitted Brainless wonders! I'll explain..
Canned Hunt- Is an Animal Rights Nitwitted Brainless Wonder definition! Outdoorsmen/women who are NOT in Bed with those Animal Rights Nitwitted Brainless Wonders use "High Fenced" Hunts! Some folks Hunt 1 away and some other folks hunt Another way....ifin it isn't your way to hunt, Do NOT go Knocking the other folks way of Hunting if it is LEGAL! And don't go "Bedding" Up with the Nitwitted Brainless Wonders to stop the other person's way of hunting, Because After those Nitwitted Brainless Wonders get the other person's way of hunting made illegal, they will come for YOUR Way of Hunting and you will have no one to blame but yourself! High Fenced hunts are Far from easy like the Nitwitted Brainless Wonders try to make folks believe! It isn't like shooting fish in a barrel and it isn't shooting an animal in a cage! Some of our Younger Generation needs BADLY to LEARN THAT!
I get very upset when I see folks who call themselves "Outdoorsman/women" or "Hunters" use animal rights nitwitted brainless wonders words! Those Animal Rights Nitwitted Brainless Wonders are FAR from trying to Protect the animals like they try to make out they are doing! All it takes is a Google search on them and some reading and you will learn fast they are NOT what they say they are! They are basically a "Homeland Terrorist" organizations and should be treated as such!
