hey, desperado (and everyone else) -

got this message from tex today - it might be a bumpy ride in the very near future but things will work out in the end, no worries!

Quote TexasShooter]Hey guys, the machine hosting the BSB seems like it may be on its last leg. It crashed again over the weekend.  So... I'm gonna have to move the BSB to another machine. I'm going to try to do it today, possibly this morning, so we're going to have some downtime, and posts that are made this morning are prob going to be lost.

BSB does not ahve any mass email capability, so if every member can pass this along to any members in their email address book, i would be appreciative.

thanks!

Ok, if you're seeing this, we're back up.
I used a tool called VM Converter and converted this server from a physical machine to a virtual machine and have it running on one of our ESX servers now. It should be faster, but otherwise exactly the same.

This move is something I've been wanting to do for a while as it allows me to take a snapshot of this entire server that could be launched in the future should something go wrong, and it can be moved to different hardware easily, etc.

More importantly, it should allow me to do some safe testing for some of the changes we've been needing for a while... e.g. -new version of the board itself, email stuff, etc.

Anyway, let me know if there are any issues that you see today.
