Boy, did I have fun this weekend! Capital sports had their fun shoot at the range and they brought company reps and goodies to shoot. The first one I shot was a 26 oz. 44 mag. Titanium cylinder and Scandium alloy frame. It just flat hurts. Like a Bulldog on steroids. I shot it five times and that was about three too many. Nice to carry, but not a shooter. They also had a 500 there. I shot it three times at two dollars a pop. Nice shooter. Feels like shooting a heavy 44. Good feel, typically nice trigger. It's oversized, but not too goofy looking. I liked. Also shot a Kimber 84 in 308. VERY nice. Excellent trigger. Maybe three pounds and very crisp. Nice work. Compare that to a Win. coyote I shot next. The trigger felt like a hard marshmallow. Shot ok when you finally got it to go off. All in all, a fun day.

I considered taking a peek at it but usually stay away from such things thinking it'll be a cluster $@# *. I very much like Capitol Sports and the people who work there but I've about had it with their inventory. Last year they were advertising their new optic area and yet they still carry a very limited variety of rifle scopes. I think Helena is prime for a another store. I stop in Yellowstone Gateway Sports in Bozeman/Livingston once a month and I hear they're looking at opening a store here. I suppose I'll stop ranting just really disapointed that we don't have a top notch gunshop.

I wondered if you had been there, actually, it wasn't too bad. A lot of guys at the pistol range and the 100 yd. was mostly full, but the long range was almost empty. I had to check zero on my '06 and 338 after swapping stocks and then I had some fun playing with stuff I will probably never be able to buy. (Kimber, maybe?)
