a local fellow named john hasler died last night and leaves behind a young family including his wife stacey and his two children.

i didn't know john well, but stacey was roger's teacher in pre-school and they were members of our church here in chinook. their daughter is also a classmate of roger's.

i know for sure that this young family can use your prayers.

MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THEM, I KNOW THE RECENT LOST OF A LOVED ONE, MAY THE LORD EASE THEIR BURDEN AND GIVE THEM PEACE IN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HE IS WITH HIM IN HEAVEN

JOHN COLIN HASLER obituary CHINOOK


(Created: Friday, March 14, 2008 11:53 AM MDT)

John Colin Hasler, 33, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, of an apparent heart attack.

A visitation is scheduled for family and close friends at 6 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Chapel, 500 Indiana Ave. In Chinook. His funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the American Lutheran Church in Chinook with Pastor Charles Sider officiating. The burial will follow at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. A fellowship reception will be held at the church after the committal. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to a trust account for the family at the Wells Fargo Bank in Chinook. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook. John was born Jan. 12, 1975, to John C. and Gloria B. (Bieber) Hasler in Helena. The family moved to Havre in 1984. John grew up in Havre and attended school there. He graduated from Havre High School in 1993. After graduating he worked on a ranch south of Chinook. He also worked for Bill Henry Construction in Havre. He met Stacey L. Wood and they married July 22, 2000. The couple then moved to the Sweet Grass Hills area. To this union two children were born, Raynee and Lane. While living in Sweet Grass he worked for Pepsi. The family later moved to Chinook and John started working for the railroad. John enjoyed life and his family. He had a good heart and was a very caring person. He was also considered fun-loving and always willing to help others. He enjoyed the out of doors and all the activities offered. He loved camping, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and time in the Bears Paw Mountains with his family. John is survived by his wife, Stacey Hasler, and his two children, Raynee and Lane, all of Chinook; his parents, John and Gloria Hasler of Havre and Malta; grandparents Bud and Laura Belle Hasler, John’s hero, of Malta; sisters, Lorrie (A.J.) Keller of Havre, Ginetta (Trent) Frost of Bozeman and April (Dan Ritchey) Hanson of Malta; mother- and father-inlaw, Jon and Janice Wood of the Sweet Grass Hills area; sisterin- law, Mandy (Brian) Morris of Lake Zurich, Ill; brother-inlaw Justin (Suzanne) Wood of Meridian, Idaho; brother-in-law Aaron Wood of Butte; seven nephews and one niece, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents William and Elsa Bieber; grandfather-in-law Jim Wood; uncles Jonathan, LeRoy and Elmer Bieber and Joe Lucas; cousins Lynnette Dowling and Eric Bieber.
