Was over by one of SA's oldest, most established (and expensive) gunshops today, and went in for a look around. Been a few years since I've been in. Was waiting to look at a Krag sporter, when I wandered over to the used handgun case. There, in all its glory, lay an apparently unfired RG .22lr revolver. Price was only $210! Just about defecated myself when I saw that price!

For those youngsters unfamiliar with the products of Rhom & Gasser (I think Gasser), they made the finest fishing weights in the world. I never heard of an RG going 50 rounds without going out of time. No such thing as a Saturday Night Special, but if there was such a thing, this would be it! Zinc cast frame, poorly fit and finished, I think the .22LR DA sold for about $49 the last year they were imported. Jeez, I guess I should have bought RGs instead of Smiths, Colts, and Rugers.

Trigger;

The shop management has obviously paid attention to the wisdom of P.T. Barnum.  For those of you whom may not be familiar with the Mr. Barnum's cynicism, the following quote is usually attributed to him:  "There's a sucker born every minute".

Hard to believe what some people in the gun business think sometimes. As for wheel guns I pretty much stick with S&W's, Colt's & Ruger's.

No POS die cast pot metal guns for this buyer.

Marcus.
