Well, when we moved back home we decided to get a dog, a well bred English Setter from a breeder in PA was the pick. Due to work we didn't get alot of time with him in the field during the summer, but we did work with handling as much as possible in the yard. I could see he would be a hunter and made the decision to head to our stomping grounds in east MT. The deer population has took a serious toll so we didn't even put in for deer tags, just 3 days before Thanksgiving trying to get some roosters. He did great! Weather was wild, first day, open water, mid to high 30s, then bam, 18" of snow and single digits. We managed to get a few (missed alot) and most important my son had a blast with his dog. We have since been going to a local bird preserve as much as possible to keep Hank progressing. He gets better every time out!!

Hank's first bird! My buddy shot it right on the bank of the Missouri river!

My son Adam's first rooster in front of Hank! Somewhere in Eastern Montana

Me and Adam after hunt stop 2 on day 2. Hank was coming into it on this hunt.

Highlight of the trip, was this young bull moose near Dagmar, MT...something that doesn't happen much!

my boys Matt and Adam at the preserve.

Dagmar now there's a town you don't hear much about...I have herd of it but I had to look it up. Kind of like Ingomar, Montana. There but not much.ClapClapClapClap
