Jeff Beck And Rod Stewert Doing People get ready. This was the best of both great performers in my opinion. Check it out. http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/--2147745 MM |

sorry MM, got to disagree. Try the Curtis Mayfield original version of "People Get Ready". http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/9/14/9919/21656 Rod screams toooooo much for me. I had my kids decades ago, and Rod is more un-nerving to my ears than a baby crying in a crib at 2 am. To each his own, but I'm not convinced. BEAR |

I like the original, but just something about Rod and Jeff together. Have loved them since back in the Faces days. Hated it when Rod went Disco for several years. Jeffs playing sounds like is gitfiddle is just talking back to Rod. Mayfield was the man! His original was great to be sure! MM |

Got to wonder about the people that wrote that song and others like it. Motivated by King's "I've got a dream" speech. Bet they feel like thy died and went to heaven when B.O. got elected and sits in the oval office. I would think that King would be rising out of his coffin, humming "People get Ready". While I don't support B.O. and think he is totally incompetent; it IS a great achievement for America. BEAR |

I agree. It is cool we finaly got past all the bigitry long enough to elect a man that isn't all white, But I sure as hell think we could have done better! Oh well could have been Jesse Jackass, or Al Notsosharpeton. So count our blessings how ever small they are My only real problem is did we elect him because he would do a good job, or because enough people thought it was the right thing to do because he was "black"? I suspect the later. I have a hard time believing that many people really thought he was the right competent choice to run this country. MM |

He came with a mindless 24 % of the population voting for him (black block vote). Unfortunate, he has never achieved anything on his own skills, only as "a minority' player. the black community could not have chosen a worse candidate.

Thats how I see it too. He was just a "black" man so we better vote for him. Or not look like a bigot and vote against him. But the fact is he isn't black, and he isn't white. If he was a dog we would call him a mutt. He has no real exsp. and no real skills other than being a great speaker. I fear he will fail us as gun owners, and Americans in general. MM |
