Well, my Jeep has been averaging right about 10 mpg driving it in a mix of state roads and local, getting almost 13 on the highway (solid 2 hours of driving. Yesterday, I drove up Na'th (North) and filled up for the trip home (I had gone 150 miles, so I wouldn't have made it back on 1 tank). I reset my mpg calculator on the fancy Jeep computer (the star of 1993 technology) and went a little over 100 miles home, with the brunt of the driving averaging 40 mph. I just went out and looked at the fancy MPG calculator and it reads 16.4! The only thing I have done different between the 10.2 mpg and the 16.4 was added Chevron fuel injector cleaner (I think the techron stuff, but can't quite recall). It would have been completely burned off by the time I filled up, so as far as I can tell, my fuel injectors were really dirty! I am going to be slapping new tires on it, with maybe a 2" lift so I can fit 31" on her, but haven't quite decided yet. It also needs some loving with the paint job. Here are some pictures...

She is a woody indeed. It doesn't necessarily attract the ladies, but it is nice to hear the 70 year old fellas come up and say "Back in ought whatever I owned a Jeep woody!"

NH, Are you sure you didn't just take my advice from the fuel filter thread? RD

Those MPG calculators are known to be a little of at times.  Before you get all fuzzy and warm. I would fill the tank, drive it and then refill it. Calculate it your self what the actual MPG's are.

However, a bottle of fuel injector every 5-10k miles is worthwhile investment

Thats a good improvement!!

I get 18 highway and 10 city in my "BURB" It's old with 200,000 on it with a 350. Poor thing needs a overhaul when I pull the boat it gets 10 mpg and uses 2 qts of oil in a 200 mile trip

I'm with saddle.

Not sure who said it, but if your fuel filter is clogged the injector cleaner just keeps trying to dissolve the crap in the filter, I'd change both.

Use to have an 81 Grand Wagoneer with wood decal sides.  Had a real woody in the 51 ford wagon.

If that car ain't good enough for a girl....you don't want her.  Toss her a$$ back into the pool she ain't no keeper.  Check to see how fast the chick can skin a squirrel!  That is the test.
