I have never fished for musky.
A guy I used to know would use a Baby duck.
Not a fake duck mind you but a real baby duck. He would get them from the farm store before heading out. He would tie 3 or 4 treble hooks to the bird and cast it in to the reeds and wait.
He said it was very effective.

I never have fished for Muskie but I have fished for Northern Pike quite a bit.

I have had the best luck using Len Thompson Red and yellow five of diamonds or red and white spoon. I've done pretty good with a black and yellow five of diamonds.

Just my expierence.

The 3.5 and 4"  spoons do work well for northerns.  I like the 5 of diamonds.  Last year caught over 100 in 4 days fishing, biggest was 45" on 5 of diamonds yellow/red.

hope to get the boat in the water by tomorrow.  get a few days trolling for muskie, i hoe.
