MONTANA STATE PARKS OFFER GOOD OLD- FASHIONED ENTERTAINMENT UNDER THE STARS

             Montana's State Parks have good old-fashioned entertainment under the stars planned for this fall. Check with your local state park for a schedule of events.

             Here are some samples of programs that are coming soon. For a full list of Montana State Parks campfire programs, go to the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks web site at fwp.mt.gov and look for the event calendar on the Parks and Recreation page.

Aug. 20              2 p.m – 4 p.m.

Ulm Pishkun State Park

During a talk at the buffalo jump, a park ranger describes how the buffalo jump was used and its history. For details, call 406-866-2217.

 

Aug. 25              6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park

Combine stargazing and a family camp-out, including the use of several telescopes and a presentation on the evening sky. For details, call 406-287-3541.

 

Sept. 1               8 p.m.

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park

Learn about medicinal plants in this presentation at the campground pavilion. For details, call 406-287-3541.

 

Sept. 2               7 p.m.

Bannack State Park

Come enjoy a guided tour of the stars, with telescopes for viewing distant planets and galaxies available on site. Don’t forget your own viewing devices. For details, call 406-834-3413.

 

Sept. 16 &17                 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Ulm Pishkun State Park

Enjoy watching or competing in the 6th Annual Ulm Pishkun Atlatl Event. For details, call 406-866-2217.
