Sunday WAY up north near the border the winds are to be 3 to 5 mph NE.
The temps will be chilly but may be worth it for the wind. Coyotes!Big smile
An hour and three quarters drive to my first planned set, we will pull out of my buddy's house at 5:30am.
We will need the whites, it looks like.
I think I have to try, I have the 22/250 zeroed for 200 yards with the new bullets just crying for coyote in it's scope.

I've always wondered if those work.

Their were some guys camped close to our antelope camp that had some of those except they looked like antelope.
Every time I drove out of camp to go hunt somewhere they sure got my attention nut I never saw an antelope standing by them.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Here in the east, whitetail decoys are somewhat common.  Deer cme in and just tear up on the decoys, usually at night.

I think the cow is to hide a hunter in what looks normal to a criter. color might make a difference, if criters are use to seeing angus, then black would do.

First off.
I don't see me hiding behind an antelope/deer/elk, Blind, we don't even set our coyote fold out near us.
You WILL get shot.
Yes Black would be better, red is there production color, you can special order a black one but it's more $$$ and adds several weeks to the delivery.
We do have red cowy here and white ones.Shocked

A $2 can of black primer spray paint...bingo  angus!

They are Stalking decoys.  made to hide behind and carry with handles till you get close.  that one actually has a shooting slot!

I do see guys using stalking turkey decoys, hiding behind them and calling...asking to be shot!!!

I think I'd even be a little concerned about using a cow to stalk up on game. With some of the idiots that I've run across while hunting I wouldn't be too surprised if they would shoot a cow.

Made it out, 300 mile round trip.
IT IS STILL WINTER UPNORT!!!
The roads had packed snow or mud.
Deep Hard icy snow on the shoulders , hard to find a place to pull off and park. Standing lakes in the fields, crunchy snow, lots of ice, and mud.
Very difficult to traverse.
Called a bunch, no takers, 25* NO wind, sunny.
Saw 5 bald eagles and 7 golden eagles, deer, antelope, hawks, crows, and geese. Plenty of fresh track but no coyotes. ???.Ouch
