I love bird dogs, all of them. I've had springers, labs, shorthairs, e. pointers and now e. setters. Worked with a few vizlas, couple gordons, and some britts.

Here's what I got now. Show me your's.

Squirt

Bodie

Both of them

Don, This is my Yellow Lab Rocky. He's been gone just about a year now. Natural pointing dog, Good pheasant dog, better companion. Weighed about 110 pounds in working trim, 125 at the end of a long winter. Lived to the ripe old age of 12. Seems a man only gets one like him in a lifetime. I've got one now with promise but it just isn't the same. RD

My Christmas present two years ago was my old E. Pointer, Otis, passing away. He'd have been 16yrs the following spring. Each time it happens to me I think, "there will never be another like him/her". Well there's never gonna be, just different. Best why to mend a broken heart is a new puppy!

Nice dog Don.  Like you I've hunted over most of the same breeds, adding in some beaglesa and a basset for bunnies.

Like the other posters most of my best dogs, lack lab and a brit, are gone.  Since i retired in Jan, been thinking of getting another.  Seems I had more energy for training about 40 years ago.  Can't figure that out.  But I don't want the dog unless it is trained well, not looking for a big house pet.  Still playing with breeds?

This is my stepdaughter with my dog Bambi. Not quite a bird dog but she does seem to have the brains of a grouse at the best of times if that counts for anything.
