as per request by one of our esteemed posters, here is a shot of the new residents of my gun room:

the top is ruger's super redhawk in 480 ruger w/ a nikon monarch 2x20. the bottom gun is my new carry piece, sigarm's p229 in 40 s&w. (you'll have to excuse the sig's unkempt appearance... it has been riding in a holster non-stop while i get the new holster broken in...)

factory cartridges, from left to right: 40 s&w, 45 acp, 357 mag, and 480 ruger.

left to right: 480, 357, 45, and 40.

i can't say enough how thrilled i am w/ both the sig and the ruger. especially the sig. i wish i would've discovered sig years ago. what a gun! i need another!! lol - yeah, right - that'll happen...

anyway, if you could, please post a pic or two of your favorite hunting or carry gun. let's see 'em!

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

Dakotasin;

I'm flangin' .40 stuff downrange myself.  But I use the H&K USP compact to do it with.  The SIG is simply not left-friendly enough for me.  If you want to get mad at me, get an H&K to try back-to-back with your SIG.  Now, I'm not saying you'll flang the SIG downrange, but you could very well have to get a new holster.

Don't really have a favorite handgun.  They're all fun to shoot.  I do have favorite loads, though.  Here they be.

For the revolvers :

(L-R)

  • .454 Casull - 395 gr. WLNGC (Cast Performance Bullets)
  • .44 RemMag - 320 gr. WLNGC (Cast Performance Bullets)
  • .375 SuperMag - 250 gr. LFNGC (Beartooth Bullets)

The semi's :

(L-R)

  • 10mm - 180 gr. Speer Gold Dot
  • .40 S&W - 155 gr. Speer Gold Dot
  • .357 Sig - 125 gr. Speer Gold Dot

All the revolvers use H110 and the semi's Blue Dot.  Keeps things aweful simple when only two powders are needed to run the whole shoot and shi-bang.  >>  klallen
