To spring new photo's of my guy's on you.

Bodie

Squirt

And the newest family member,,,temperairly, Duke

Duke was found in a kennel near LaGrande, Ore wasting away. He's just 10 mos old and was kenneled with an older dog that was alpha and the little guy was skin and bones. One of the guy's on ifish found him and brought him back to Molalla, Ore and put him on the site as a rescue dog. Friend of mine from Sister's, Ore went and got him but the wife didn't want a puppy in the house right then as my friend has an E. Setter and she a Cockapoo. The cockapoo is very old and my friend thinks it won't make but maybe three more months so we're hiding Duke out here till he springs the suprize on his wife one more time! I get to work with him and all things considered he's doing great. Pointing birds and off the whoa post now. Little soft about gun fire though. Taking it easy there.

Update on Duke. Got him over the bit of gun shyness he had, also riding in the truck. Now when we go to the truch, he jump's thru the window if it's open. Little snot is always in a hurry.

He's got whoa down real well, I can stop him about anywhere he can hear me. He's off the check cord now and and on the e-collar, really bolding up. Doesn't sound good but it is, he's been having wreack's on birds, really wanting them bad. But he does stand them well most the time. Last weekend we finally got him to the point where we could fire a gun over him, he dunn well! Gave him a bird and to much going on new to him so the bird got shot and he didn't follow it. walked him over that way and he found it and brought it back. Threw it a couple more time's and Glenn fired the shotgun when I did and Duke did each very well.

This weekend I'll do him alone. A pain in the butt handling the dog, the remote launcher and the gun all at once but, I used to be able to do it. Gonna give it a go this weekend.

Here's the most recent photo of the Duke.

looking and acting good.

How is the cockapoo doing?

Yep, training is work.  I trained  labs and a brit.  When the last one died I thought of training another...miss hunting  them....but too much work for me now.
