 hey tex : hows the savage doing?? havent herd you talk about it since you got the tikka.  the kids have started the silouette shoots and matt wants a cz now. nathan is doing good he got 21 out of 40 last time he shot. they had a 4 way tie for fith place . nathan beat out the 3 old guys and won 5 bucks. now he want to shoot for money where ever we go. we will see if he is getting better or it was just luck. but if his head gets any bigger i might have to adjust the scope for him when he isnt looking.

Well... regretfully, I haven't put more than maybe 10 rounds through it in the past month or so.  We partnered up on a boat, and we've been at the lake for the past 5 weekends or so.  It's been fun for sure, but doesn't leave as much time for shooting.  I got as far as finding my cheap plinking ammo.  It really likes the Remington Golden bulk stuff.  With the occasional zinger aside, I can reliably shoot under (not much) 1" at 50 yards.  Not target accuracy, but plinking and spotlighting for about $.01 a shot can't be beat.

I finally found a group here (maybe 15 competitors) that have a weekly .22 target competition here... but dang it, they shoot on Sunday mornings when I'm at church.  Oh, well.  Maybe they'll change times.

Texas;

Since it's usually calmest in the morning, and these shoots can get fairly serious in nature, I wouldn't bet on the guys moving the time.  You might have better luck finding a church with a more flexible service schedule.

Or, could you find an ordained minister who likes to shoot & can accomodate both interests?  I mean, its Texas isn't it?

CB, I think you're on to something here.  It might go something like this:

Armaments, chapter two, verses nine to twenty-one.

And Saint Attila raised the scope to his eye, saying, 'O Lord, bless this Thy 40gr solid point that, with it, Thou mayest blow Thine targets to tiny bits in Thy mercy.'
