Interesting, the moose was a day old kill.  not smart. bears learn a dead moose is a good meal and it is THEIRS.  while the two fold, butcher/carry  sounds ok, it is asking for trouble.  the friend carrying out was leaving a mile long scent trail leading to his unarmed buddy.

As we know big bears are not to be messed with.

It's a good thing the second guy had a firearm. 

We have Grizleys on the western side of the state. I think I'll keep hunting on the eastern part of the state.

Interesting story  Lizard.

Actually having hunted and killed both black and griz bears, not sure if I'd want to be fooling around butchering a dead elk, one day after a kill.  Seems that a good 500# blackie that was feeding there, or with cubs feeding there, might just think that is it's meal!


Griz just like to kill folks....black bears like to eat them.....maybe we taste like donuts!
