For years I've been buying decent quality boots. They seem to last forever even with heavy use. Often I get 10+ years out of them. So when my wolverine got to cracking after 15 years, I bought a new pair of Wolverines. But the store didn't have my size in a high end boot, so I bought an overmolded boot (waterproof) lower priced pair. After two years the boot failed as the overmolding started to pull off where it was bonded. I was just going to buy another pair of boots, and someone said "sent it back". After a few e-mails I did. Wolverine could not have been better. they said to send them back; then followed up fast with an email asking what boot I wanted and my size. I said any waterproof boot in 9ee would be ok. they came back and said they wanted me to be happy and I should visit their site and pick a pair. I did and sent them two choices (a low end un-insulated boot similar to what I returned) and a top of the line all leather boot that I really liked. Upon returning from Maine bear hunting...there were my top end boots waiting. Obviously I'll be a Wolverine only customer, and can not say enough about there customer service. |

Great story on the boots Bear....nice to know a company cares. Last year I found out my gore-tex lined kangaroo leather upland boots leaked! So, I thought to contact the store (Cabella's) since they promise lifetime warranty on footwear, to find out what they would do. Not so good as you but the boots were 13yrs old....best they would do was offer me 60% off the current price of the current model of that boot. I took them up on it. No receipt needed, they had record of the sale on computer. Satisfied with that deal.

IBD. Wolverine was very specific that their warranty Does NOT cover wear. so it soounds like you did good. I never buy Cabelas boots/scopes as they are low bid licensed stuff; but it sounds like you got pretty good quality if you got all those years out of it. |

I have found the same thing with Wolverine. I returned a pair of shoes that had the stitching coming apart. They said send them in and we will evaluate them and if we find they are defective we will send a new pair. I sent them in and didn't expect much. if anything to happen. About two weeks later I got a new pair of shoes in the mail. Wolverine boots seem to fit me better than anything else. They are always comfortable and seem to last as long as any other brand I have worn. I will stick with them. Wing master |

bear....I should tell you that I only wore/wear them only for hunting...never for general daily use....just hunting..light wt kangaroo leather w/400grms thinsulate/gore-tex....these were/are my upland/turkey boots and I have another pair of Cabela's boots I use just for cold weather/big game hunting...not for general daily use either...these I have had since about 2000....leather/gore-tex lined/800grms thinsulate or more maybe, great traction soles...had them each day of 1st mygawds....sad to say tho all are imported....but then I had a pair of Red Wing Irish Setters that were/are made in china vs Red Wing, MN as in my youthful past. But then none of my Brownings are made in the USA either.
wm...I have a friend who swears by Wolverine boots also, he too says he gets a great "FIT" from them and has used them for years. He wears his everyday..... Edited by Irish Bird Dog |

can't find a boot made in USA, except custom made. I bought a pair of LaCrosse the day before my Maine trip, as the wolverines were gone. I looked at Danners and they also were made in China. We will all be working for China soon. |

If I am not mistaken, Carolina Boots, and Thorogood Boots are still made in America. Not looking forward to working for China. Wouldn't it help America to quit importing stuff from China? I think a lot of manufactureing jobs would be created getting people back to work and they would pay taxes, etc. I don't see any down side except maybe prices for American made products is higher. Just keep the damm unions out of the whole thing and it might work. Wing master |
