MuleSkinner, I don't think anybody is stepping on Old Glory because they purchase a Japanese motorcycle or automobile (especially those made here in the USA) lets face facts shall we, the Republican Congress our the ones who let them into this country in the first place. However, Harley's made after 2002 are much quieter and do have a much better mechanical power plant nowdays in their bikes. They are still several years away from catching up with the Japanese technology as far as the industry goes. I ride a 4 cyl Yamaha that will blow the pipes off of most of your Harley's riding on the street. They still don't have the horsepower to move their machines up hills without shifting down at least once and more often twice with a trailer and rider on the back. My bike doesn't even come out of overdrive when going down to Branson, Missouri for weekend trip. Now hiway 65 has some very long steep hills too! Now before you say anything about my being a Jap lover, I lost relatives in that War and NO I have not nor never will forget the attack on Pearl Harbor. Now what is more important is that our countries leaders don't forget it either but lately I am wondering if some of them haven't forgotten about Pearl Harbor and letting our guard down, hence the 911 attack. I'll go to my grave avoiding jap products, even those built by traitors (oops, that slipped out).....er, US workers. Seems to me people are all patriotic and isolationist until it ain't in their own self interest, then, Ol' Glory gets rationalized into insignificance. Whatever floats yer boat, but I won't even buy one of them fancy kraut 1911 pistols they got out now. Yeah, they're nice, well-built, and superior to many US made weapons. But my pistols all got the thing those pistols will never have - "Made in USA" stamped on the side.
