hmmm did I see someone make a comment about a real scoot?

let me remember from the old days, didnt a rice burning company make a sputter that had 12 forward gears and about 900cc?

Oh Yea I swallowed one of them up in my Harley's intake once....

Not to get off topic here, but Japoon mosickles are pretty much vastly superior to Amurracun bikes, more specifically Harley Davidsons. By any objective standard, H-D's are underframed, underpowered, and grossly overweight. The only thing about Harleys is the look -- which I would prefer was more miler and less chopper, and the sound, which of course is patented.
I've ridden a few Harleys and come away unimpressed every single time. If H-D would take a Sportster, frame it up, put the flattrack engine in it with lights and suspension, (like maybe a Buell) I might test ride it. I might even think about a Buell if they'd re-engineer the 45 degree engine with overhead cams and get rid of the forked connecting rod big end.
H-D also blew it with the V-rod. To take that mill and stick it in that frame was a crime.

Yep they do make a pretty good scoot and I will even go so far as to say the folks that ride them are a decent sort most of the time, thats why I always stop for them while they are broke down alongside the road, you know offer them the use of my tools or cell phone. Hell I even offer them a tow but most would rather wait on the tow truck.

Fella's;

I've seen far more 'Murrican V-twins on the side of the road than bikes from other countries.  Even considering that the rest of the world out-sells H-D 'bout 19 to 1, there's more H-D's sitting on a puddle of oil than any other brand.  'Cept maybe the Triumph's & BSA's.  But t'aint very many of them on the road anymore that aren't restored to perfection, or at least oil-tight.

I have personally stopped & given a macho biker, leather vest 'n everthang, type a ride to his hacienda on the 900F.

Tash,

I think those last posts by Dave and CB should get them banned.  And to say it so close Pearl Harbor day makes it almost a hangin' offense.  I allays said the japs won the war, their strategy was jus' to make us think WE won.  Just proves how stupid the VNamese, N Koreans, and Iraquis are.  Comes from eatin' cat meat, I reckin'.

Nothing wrong with a single stack 1911 pistol. Seemingly there's never been a better time to be in the market for one either. There certainly are some great choices out there these days.

Whatever fits my hand, fits my budget, and SHOOOTS. I won't however buy no Japoon pistols.

I can't think of anything a Harley does better than a J-bike.  If you stopped for a Harley rider who is broken down along the road, his Harley is usually in the covered padded trailer he is pulling with an f-250.  But f-250s never break down????  Every year I rent Harley's biggest and badest bike for a week ride with my son (he has a H-ACE).  Can't say much bad about the recent Harley, but I enjoy the ride of the ACE unless passing BIG 18 wheeler on the Interstates.  The factory sound of a Harley is poor compared to aftermarket pipes--don't know why they trademarked the wimp noise.

I  own a j-bike but no j-guns please, Vanguards su&%.

BEAR

Ain't buying any 45 to replace my M-39.

December 7th was the 65th anniversary of the attack that killed the 2nd most americans in history, and it was every bit a peace time attack as 9/11.  Those 2800 souls should not be dismissed as a consequence of economic development.

Bear,
Renting is a good idea. Let someone else deal with the maintenance foibles. Although I will certainly concede that Harleys are way better built now than they were in the not-so-distant past. And modern metallurgy has helped compensate for the weak points in the design.
I bet those week-long trips are a blast. Good for you.

I think garlic and a crucifix will keep DS away.  Protect your wimmins an' chilrin' from this evil scourge.  A lil' wax an' oil change surely ain't worth the memories of our forefathers' surpreme sacrifice.  Go back to hangin' upside down in some warehouse rafters - make it overseas - we only support monsters who wear Ol' Glory as their cape.  Miserable jap lovin' blood suckers.

Dave Skinner.....You might should take a gander at those Kimbers! I have owned the Colts in model 70 series and their Gold Cup too but you will be amazed at the groups those Kimbers shoot right out of the box. As matter of fact, you will have to spend twice as much money before you find a 1911 model in another brand that will out shoot them on the range. I own 3 of those Kimbers for that very reason.
