I have a chance to buy a savage 110 3006 still in the box for $250. Again with the '06?
Anyway, If I got it I think I would rebarrel it in 9.3 x 62. I can get a barrel from SHAW 24" and 1x12 twist, for $380. I found brass, and loaded ammo, still looking for dies.
I think the bolt face is the same as the '06 so it should be an easy change over.
I know one of us shoots this round, but what do you think?Thumbs UpThumbs Down

You know I love mine.

If is a nice shooting 286 gr rifle, remember it isn't a Magnum.

I've never had one or even shot one but I think I would like the cartridge.

I hadn't thought about until Bear pointed it out, but it isn't a magnum. How does it perform?
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

From what I have been reading, It falls somewhere between a 3006 ( bigger bullets) and the 8mm rem mag ish, again bigger bullets, smaller than a 375 HH
It looks like a fun round.

I took it to MYGAWDS one year and everyone shot it.  All were positive.

Ive killed a black bear and an elk with it; both one shot kills with heart shots.

Mine is very accurate.

It is in a class with 338 and 35 whelen.  the 370 Sako (also a 9.3) is about 200 fps faster.

I was thinking it would be close to .35 Whelen.

A .35 Whelen is a gun I've never had and always wanted.

9.3 and 35 whelen are both heavy bullets and medium velocity.  they are in a class for close range bear, moose and elk.  so there is limited market for these rifles.

D and i are both wacho gunners, like strange unusual cartridges.  Rocky Mountain had a nice cz full stock in 9.3x62 two years ago.  I almost bought it, it was identical to mine, single set trigger and all.  didn't think I needed two of them, but now regret it.

I remember the CZ at Rocky Mountain. It wasn't there very long. It sure was a nice rifle.

having the identical model...I still regret passing it by.

4 winning things about it:

a Cz
9.3x62
A Fullstock (aka manlicher style)
single set trigger

I agree.

I really wish CZ wouldn't have discontinued the models with the set triggers.
