The boy has a safe queen, a 270 Savage.
We also have a hundred 308 Norma brass and shells with no gun.
SOOO here we go maybe.
Any thoughts on a 358 Norma mag?
Sounds cool as heck, it tears apart a 35 whelen.
We have one of them too, The D-I-L shot here first moose with it, slam bang, thud.
How long of a barrel, Lots of recoil, the whelen rocks you too.

MAYBE???Clap

358 Norma ia certainly a sh_t kicker.

It got wiped out by the 338 mag.

The only negative is that there is a lack of bullets available.  Where as there are great 338 bullets available.  It seem more popular in Europe than here.

Don't know what rifle is involved, it a savage 110 then only the bolt head needs to be changed.  Others would require the bolt facee to be enlarged.

Another thought would be the 9.3x62,  Uses  the same case head as 270.    Larger diameter bullet, legal for elephant, no belt, and cases can easily be mad by forming from '06 brass.

And the 9,3 gulps just 55 grains of that precious powder.

My shoulder hurts just thinking about a .358 Norma.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

The Norma's certainly no slouch of a round.  It was considered when I was wanting my thumper made then I had my bro put together my .358 STA.  I use the 280 gr. a-frame.  At 2840 fps, she's a hammer.  Watching with interest.    k

Gosh it's good to hear from you. It has been sevral years.???
YUP what a round. He had a bunch of 308 Norma brass from the gun your Brother redid for the D-I L. Funny way to decide what chambering to make a project gun.
We got a good of ammo, reloading stuff from a divorce clean out.
He is using a savage 270 as a doner. I inherited a Ruger 3006 that we are redoing for the Granddaughter to a 7mmX57 AI. We got 150 rounds of 7x57 in the cleanout. SOOO. what the heck. Both barrels are coming from Shaw.
Hope to hear from you more. Thanks.

Yeah, I lose my way sometime and then by the time I think about it, a year's gone by.  Crazy.  If I can figure out an easy way to share some pictures, I'll start back up with some entries about things I've been fiddling with over the last couple years.     k
