Seems law maker and regulators just don't have anything constructive to do.  so they make silly laws/regulations.

So seems I have to constantly change.  NY say I can use my M1 carbine for deer if the mag ia no more than 5 shot and no bayonet stud (dah what does that help).  So I remove the bayonet stud, a major job of front sight removal, and make a 5 shot mag.

Then Pennsylvania say I can hunt locally  with a rifle (previously shotgun only); BUT only with straight walled pistol cartridges.  They must have got an Indiana infection.  But semi-autos are not allowed.  So now my M11 must be converted into a non-semi!  Well, yesterday I finished making a new gas piston arrangement.  I made a new design and machined one out of aluminum.  Basically it fills the cylinde with a shortened rod so as to avoid motion to the operating rod.  So the bolt doesn't unlock (might give me a little more velocity???

In the rain I went to range to test it.  One is never too sure about one's designs.   Worked perfectly.  5 shot  mag will need some touch ups to feed good.  But overall, I'm pleased.  Front sight need a little more build-up to get it zeroed at 50 yds

Will hunt it next week for doe whitetails

It's cool that you adapted what you already have to fit the new rule. I like that a lot better than buying a different gun that only has basically one use.

Bear, no need to convert a 15rd mag to 5rd as you can buy 5rd mags for the M1 Carbine. I have one for mine is how I know that.
Kudos on the remake of the M1 carbine to non semi auto....great job, requires machining skill plus machine & talent to make the design.Thumbs Up
