Hey waksupi - There are a few mothers-in-law that easily fit your description to a tee. So yours is not proof yet of what BEAR(not Tas) is asking. We had one a few years ago running loose in the upper thumb of Mich. It was near a lesbian resort area, so I'd opt for it(not her/him) that lost its way from the camp.

It could exist. Some of you might remember my story from a few years ago. Up here in the rain forest you see and hear weird stuff. Just for the point of argument, Did you know that NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN A baby great white shark!!!!!!!! Yet we know they must exist, also NO ONE HAS EVER FOUND A DEAD BEAR IN THE FOREST THAT DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES!!!!!!!!! yET we no that they do die. So is it so weird that we have never found a corpse? Maybe they bury their own?? Who knows. But I'll tell you straight up, I've seen and heard some weird sheet out there, and believe me it wasn't an elk call. Count me in on the believers side,,,,,,,,BH

Rod, bear corpse are found fairly often. A friend, now retired from the sherriffs department, said they would get a call on human remains found in the woods every year or so. He said if the skull wasn't with the rest of the bones, it was necessay to send the bones to the state crime lab for positive ID, as the skeletal structure are so close in make up. Ever seen a skinned bear hanging? You would swear someone skinned out a man. I believe the reason not many dead bears are founs, is that other scavengers make short work of them. I know in this area, you would have a lot of territory to cover to find a dead one. I've found dead coyotes, elk, deer, and moose I can think of right off hand, and most have been pretty well scavenged before I came across them, leaving very little evidence. I'm inclined to think many bears die in thier old age in denning locations, as if in poor health, they would have went into thier dormant mode in a less than healthy conditin, and just never awoke from hibernation. Hibernation, being what it is, many times would not leave an exposed corpse, and one would have to stumble across a lot of old dens to check this out.

WAKSUPI, My point exactly. I've seen quite a few skinned bears. and your right, they llok human, HELL they even look human when you drag them out of the woods.. I also agree that the bears probably do go somewhere to die (Like a den). But I've never seen proof that someone has actually found a dead bear that died of natural causes. BUBBA from down the street can tell me he found one all he wants, I want real reports from the the dept. of wildlife before i believe it,,,,,,BEARHUNTER

Hard to get a tag in our State. The season is only a one day one every third leap year between the hours of 8:15 and 8:42 AM. if the ground hog has to see his shadow and have a ingrown toenail. Other than that it's easy to shoot one here. DD Edited by deaddog |

Why would you want info from FWP? They insist there are no flying squirrels around here, which we all feed. They insist the bulltrout are declining because of habitat destruction. Bullshit. I worked for Montana FWP when they were doing thier damndest to kill every spawning bull trout they could find. They wanted to make the fishery west of the divide a cuthroat fishery, so the tourist had a stupid fish they could catch. Orders were, to go up spawning stearms, kill all the spawners, and throw them on the banks for the griz to eat. So now the Green Nazis are trying to protect them as an endangered species. Yeah, a state sponsored endangered species. This all came about when K.L. Kool was head of the FWP. He was from the Dakotas, and loved pike. Surprisingly enough, there are now pike in most waters around here, where they were never present before. Definitely no paperwork on it, but there was a hell of a bunch of fish scattered around here in pretty short time, for it to be bucket biology. I wouldn't believe the Montana FW&P if they told me thier asshole was on fire, and flames were shooting twenty feet out their backside. And I wouldn't cross the street to piss on them, to put them out.

I tend to believe Waksupi that bears die in their dens. It does make a lot of sense. Old people that die from natural causes do so in their sleep and an old bear thats on its last legs gets to sleep for a few months during hibernation and within that time i believe is when the bear wont wake up for spring. The dead bears and bones I've seen were killed by cars or trains or bigger bears. I suspect that bears that die of gunshot wounds or disease head for the closest thicket and crawl down to the tightest group of roots in a blow-down. But we do see the highway and RR Right-Of-Way kills. Now most of the alleged sighting of big Foot are in areas with some roads So you would think a dead big foot would be found also. Especially in that a dead Bigfoot skull would be worth $500,00 compared to $2 for a black bear skull. BEAR |

I don't know if Bigfoot ever existed or not, but there's a lot of places in my area that cater to the believers. Not to many years ago there was an old lumberjack who finally admitted to making large footprints in the woods as a joke. I think it was back in the 1950's he did it. Maybe there's more pranksters like him, making fake prints to get a rise out of people. If I ever see a Bigfoot in the forest I'll be sure to offer him a cold one. Sh*t, those guys are big, I'd better bring along a couple cases. |

Gentlemen! I would just like to say that the man who actually invented BIG FOOT, confessed to the fact on his death bed, that he and his buddy made it made it all up as a joke and then just let things go on etc. So you see, there is NO animal or human type walking around the dark timber in the northwest or anywhere else for that matter. The 2 men did an excellent job of pulling the wool over the eyes of some so called experts in their field. |

Hey all, I was dead wrong about Bigfoot. I'm happy to say he's alive and well, living in Orick, CA. Saw him today as I was passing through town. |
